TheatreZone’s 2016 Season

THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG

DAMES AT SEA – the quintessential American musical

Book and Lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller
Music by Jim Wise

A long-running hit off-Broadway that brought stardom to Bernadette Peters, this campy show is based on the nostalgia of Hollywood musicals of the 30's. It's big time New York, into which sweet little Ruby from a faraway Hometown, U.S.A. has come to make it big on Broadway. Who should she chance to meet but another boy from Hometown, U.S.A.: Dick, a sailor, who also has ambitions as a songwriter. Ruby begins in the chorus, and by the end of the day, in true Hollywood fashion, Dick saves her doomed Broadway show with a smash tune, as Ruby becomes a star on the deck of a battleship which just happens to be passing by.

AMADEUS

Winner! Tony® Award for Best Play

Amadeus is a highly fictionalized account of the lives of the composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri in the court of Emperor Josef. This provocative work weaves a confrontation between mediocrity and genius into a tale of breathtaking dramatic power. Salieri has given himself to God so that he might realize his sole ambition to be a great composer. Mozart is a foul-mouthed, graceless oaf who has that which is beyond Salieri's envious grasp: Genius.
